Broadcom provides close to 1,000 employees with a book doctor volunteer activity as part of their employee team-building event

About 1,000 Broadcom employees participated in a team building activity through THINK Together’s Book Doctor program on Wednesday, Oct. 10, at the Hyatt Huntington Beach.

The positive energy on the Huntington Beach shore was extremely upbeat when droves of Broadcom employees arrived for this incredible volunteer event. The event benefitted three Orange County nonprofit organizations, including THINK Together.

Broadcom employees divided themselves into three groups to participate in three sessions, with 45-minute increments each. The Book Doctors reviewed, repaired, and restored some 19,200 books.

These books will go back into the Orange County community and into the hands of children. Because of the service provided by corporate volunteers like Broadcom in book doctor projects, THINK Together has been able to distribute as many as 35,000 books in one month.

Building partnerships with companies such as Broadcom allows THINK Together to provide better services to youth and their families.

“Corporate volunteerism helps THINK Together ensure that all students receive the support and resources needed to reach their full potential,” said Rick Ventura, THINK Together’s Chief Development Officer. ”We’re excited about Broadcom’s recent volunteer effort and we look forward to celebrating the success of this partnership.”

Broadcom emphasizes the importance of encouraging their employees to give back to the communities where they work and live. Events like these are considered not just an investment in local communities but also in their employees’ well being.

“When public and private education and businesses work together, we are then able to realize that real support can surround our schools and communities in assuring that every child receives the tools needed to be successful in a competitive market,” said Randy Barth, THINK Together CEO and Founder.
