THINK Together teens boast 100% graduation success; plan to enroll in college
THINK Together is proud to recognize the students who were enrolled as seniors this past year in Teen Centers at our community sites; and in particular, those students at our Shalimar Teen Center, in Costa Mesa.
This year, every senior at Shalimar graduated from their respective high school. And in addition to that great news, each one has informed us they will enroll in college this Fall -- more than half the graduates will enroll in four years colleges or universities including: Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Cal State University San Bernardino, UC Irvine, UC Riverside and UC Santa Barbara.
THINK Together, now one of California’s largest providers of academically-focused after-school programs, got its start on the streets of the Shalimar neighborhood in Costa Mesa. While THINK Together’s school-based sites are funded in part through public grants; community sites are sustained entirely through private support. And the additional support from community volunteers makes a big difference in helping these students close the academic achievement gap.
