History

Expansion into San Bernardino County began with the Ontario-Montclair School District in the fall of 2006 with the release of the first wave of after school (Prop. 49) funding. Several districts were added at that time and expansion has continued to new districts and schools within existing district partners. The most recent addition is Victor Elementary School District, which was added in January of 2012.  As in all counties, our growth continues. We will update our site list as new sites are added.

Our Team

San Bernardino County is served by a general manager, an executive director and 18 full-time program and human resources staff members. We also have multiple site coordinators and program leaders at each school site who work with our students. As our footprint in the county grows, so will our staffing ranks.

Fernando Reyes, General Manager,is a 30-year education veteran, worked at the El Rancho Unified School District (Pico Rivera, CA) as a teacher, coach, assistant principal and principal. He also served as the district coordinator of Categorical Programs and an elementary and high school principal in the Lake Elsinore Unified School District (LEUSD). During his tenure at LEUSD, Reyes provided leadership that helped graduate the district out of Program Improvement (PI) status. Specifically, Fernando moved scores at one struggling PI elementary school +100 API (Academic Performance Index) points and at second elementary school moved scores +120 API points and attaining the “800″ API state recognition. He holds a bachelor’s from California State University, Fullerton, and a master’s in educational administration from California Lutheran College.

Diego DDiego Diaz, Director of Learning Programs supports the San Bernardino County Region.  Diego joined THINK Together in 2007 and before becoming Director of Learning Programs, he served as Senior Quality Assurance Coach in Orange County and San Bernardino County.  Diego received a Bachelors of Science degree from Cal Poly Pomona, in Kinesiology and Sports Medicine with an emphasis in Health Promotion.  He also received two minors in Spanish and Marketing. His passion for education and making an impact in youth is what brought him to THINK Together in 2007 after teaching at a High School in South Central LA.
