THINK Together’s success in providing high quality programs is directly linked to the dedicated time, talent and support offered by our volunteers.
We believe supporting and encouraging our youth in their educational development is a community effort, that is why we offer volunteer opportunities in all the locations we serve; Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Riverside, San Diego, Orange and Sacramento Counties. In 2011 THINK Together facilitated the engagement of over 4,000 volunteers who offered 173,000 hours of service to students and the organization.
The diversity of background, culture, education, areas of interest and expertise shared by volunteers creates arich atmosphere for our students that is conducive to learning and provides countless opportunities for students to discover their own gifts, talents and areas of interest. Volunteers are role models for our students and serve as examples to our community of how one person can make a difference.
Participating in the growth and development of our youth is both challenging and rewarding. As volunteers we are helping to shape the future today, not just in the lives of those we serve but in our own lives as well. The relationships we build (through sharing of our lives) make us better people. We begin to understand that volunteering is not just a civic duty or moral obligation; it is a way of life.The results are healthier neighborhoods and a deeper sense of community.
